phito

The objective of the PHITO project is to create an easily accessible App that provides data-driven farm advice to small and medium farmers, fostering enhanced collaboration within the European Union’s agriculture sector. This project, funded by the EU under the Horizon2023 initiative, spans a duration of five years. SmartFarming BV will collaborate with esteemed partners, including Wageningen University, UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI PADOVA, and Cambisol, to achieve the project’s goals.

EMPOWERING SMALL AND MEDIUM FARMERS WITH DATA-DRIVEN INNOVATION

The PHITO project spans five years and aims to revolutionize digital innovation for small and medium farmers. Leveraging geodata, the project endeavors to convert it into actionable advice, enabling farmers to make informed decisions.

SmartFarming BV plays a leading role in the project by spearheading the development and maintenance of the PHITO platform infrastructure. Collaborating with other project participants, the company is at the forefront of designing the App following user-centered principles and GSMA standards. The focus lies in translating insights from user needs assessments and geodata harvesting into a user-centric design tailored to the interests and capacities of small and medium farmers (SMFs). To ensure effectiveness and usability, the beta App will undergo evaluation with end-users.

Through the PHITO project, the ultimate goal is to empower small and medium farmers with digital technologies and geodata-driven advice. By providing accessible and user-friendly tools, the initiative seeks to enhance farmers’ productivity, sustainability, and opportunities within the agriculture sector.
